3yo and Gladiators

I've got tonsillitis so we've been stuck in the house watching TV most of the weekend and tried Gladiators for the first time. I have really enjoyed it (an embarrassing amount tbh 😂) and she has too, but I am a bit worried about whether the "violence" will influence her.

She's generally pretty good at nursery, but does pinch/hit me fairly often. It seems to have ramped up a bit this weekend but that might just be because she's been under-exercised and bored. My main concern is that she'll start trying to rugby tackle her friends, or push them off the climbing frame 😱 thinking it's funny.

I have explained to her that it's a tv show and they're all wearing protective clothing and have to follow the rules etc, but I'm not sure how much she understands.

Do you let your 3yo watch it? Any thoughts?

Also any other recommendations for family friendly TV as I have had enough of paw patrol/rescue riders/pj masks etc

Thanks!

My 2yr old watched it with us, tho she wasn't thst interested, but if its on next year, she'll be 3 and ill watch it with her again. Its sport, not violence

You're overthinking this, it bears absolutely no resemblance to any aspect of normal daily life! My 2.5yo loves it and is very rarely physical with me or his (older) DSis and never is to anyone else.

My 2 year old and 3 year old love The Floor is Lava game show on Netflix and I enjoy it too!

Thanks all. She's never watched any "grown up" tv before, which is maybe why I'm over thinking it a bit.

And thanks @SquawkerTexasRanger we've just watched the floor is lava which is hilarious 😂

@Weakmocha . Aww bless. Still got my youngest of three DDs at home, 15 yr old. She seldom watches any telly like most her age these days but she purposefully has joined me on a few of the weeks and loved it..I loved the show too. No need to be embarrassed for enjoying it . There are 4 or 5 other very lengthy threads about Gladiators on MN of which I'm a regular contribution on 3 of them. It goes without saying Gladiators has a huge female following as it has done in previous years gone by. You're definitely not alone in your enjoyment! lol.. One day you'll be old enough not to care! lol.. Don't deny yourself, watch all of the previous episodes, well worth the time! I'm sure it won't have a negative inference on her behaviour..With that said I do get your concern, but she'll be fine bless her :).. Anyway, don't fret, a new series is coming! lol :)
