Threadworms - what are the white specks? Help please!

Hello,

My 6 year old has threadworms and has passed it on to myself, my husband and grandparents. We took ovex a week ago and then realised we'd only taken a 2.5ml dose rather than 5. So we dosed everyone again 2 days ago.

With the exception of my boy , we all have loads of tiny white specs appearing on underwear and inside trousers throughout the day / overnight. They do not move. What are they? Are they newly hatched larvae?

We are all washing twice a day and changing underwear twice a day and washing hands well etc. Should we dose again, especially as two of us still have itching?

Thank you in advance for your help.

I'd dose again. And then repeat after two weeks.

Are you all showering every morning before getting dressed?
Have you washed the bedlinen and all underwear in a hot wash, vacuumed the rooms including the mattress?

There is a lot of info on the NHS website which you will find useful.

It sounds like you all still have threadworms.
