Newborn smells like friends perfume!

My friend came to visit us to meet our new born ( three weeks old ) after she left I can’t get the strong smell of my friends perfume off babies skin! We’ve bathed her and rinsed her off. The smell is still on her! I’m so worried this has harmed our baby. I’m probably overthinking it, but I miss her baby smell!

Just came on here to vent!! 😂

It will fade…my DH wears strong aftershave to work and when he comes home and holds our son he gets bathed in it. Don’t stress.

I remember this feeling well. It'll be fine. Try not to worry. I hated it too. 😊

I hated my LOs smelling of other peoples perfume but your baby will be absolutely fine. If you wear perfume your LO probably smells of that usually but you don't notice your own

It'll be fine but I get that you were slightly concerned. As I've got older I simply can't stand the smell of any perfume on anyone. To me they all make a person smell cheap. I'm also dog lover and it can really upset an animal as they identify their people by scent and have tens of thousands more scent receptors in their noses than humans do, so I just use Dove products, that's it. Enjoy your baby!
