As it says really anyone else kids constantly catching every bug possible around DD and DS 5 and 6 years old for the past 3 and half weeks they have been of school and nursery mostly my DD that has it worse constantly caught every bug possible it came from the nursery she is at at least 2/3 kids a day we’re getting sent home with it.

so far they both have had a very bad sickness bug that started then cough , cold the cough and cold and D&V occasionally all this has lingered for ages currently my daughter has a ear infection And is currently on Clarithromycin and is horrible having to give her it through yogurts and she still knows something is wrong. Recently finished amoxicillin for a chest infection just feel like it’s never stopping at the moment Easter holidays here in Scotland beautiful day today and there stuck in loaded with the cold and everything myself also.

them not feeling well also effects there sleep it’s a shame there trying to sleep and woke up with this horrible cough that’s making them sick.

have been giving the usual paracetamol and ibuprofen as required does help slightly but I wish there was something for children with a cough GP don’t recommend much for kids cough apart from the usual cough syrup but it’s completely useless tried every possible syrup I can buy for there ages!! Was at the hospital with her Friday because GP were closed!! At my wits end here 🥹

Sorry you're dealing with this, sounds awful.

Unfortunately antibiotics zap the immune system so will make them more likely to get sick and slower to recover. You'll just need to ride it out until their guts recover from the antibiotics.

The only other things you can do are give them loads of sleep and lots of healthy food. I try to incorporate homemade bone broth into my DC's diet every day.

Totally feel your pain. My DD almost 4 has been ill 6 times since the middle of November.

When we have been to docs they have said it's been viral. This is her first autumn/ winter in school.

Mostly cough/cold type symptoms but on occasion she has coughed so much she's made herself sick. I use a lot of snuffle babe / Vicks and use a cool mist humidifier which sometimes helps depending on the type of cough.

She does eat fruit and veg and takes a daily multivitamin. Doesn't seem to help. She was born and the start of lockdown and wondering if she's just catching up on the germs she didn't catch that first year. It's been relentless x
