Would you think this was a crap gift?

My DC (2 years old) was invited to 3 parties this weekend. All from friends which I wouldn't consider super close.

We are struggling financially at the moment and 2/3 parties also involve buying food / drinks when there.

I really had to budget when buying the gifts.

Today I gave the first present to the 1 year old boy at his party which was a mini windmill for the garden ( similar to attached pic) and I immediately I felt embarassed for how small and rubbish it seemed.

Other people had bought proper presents like clothes and toys which must have cost a lot more.

Just wondering if you would be offended/ judgemental/ think this was a crap gift if your child received this as a gift?

Would you think this was a crap gift?

It's a really sweet gift. I usually avoid plastic gifts but I would make an exception for that wee windmill!

That is a lovely gift for a small child.

My 4yo was given this as a present recently and he was genuinely really chuffed with it!

It's the kind of thing I would see someone else give and steel it as an idea to give someone else.

That's a lovely gift!

Yep agree that's a perfect present for a baby they would love it and it can be stuck into a plant or something after we've had those that lasted forever!

I've held a number of parties and honestly we haven't even noticed/cared if someone doesn't bring a present - a card is nice but please don't worry.

Also surely they're feeding the kids at these parties? At soft play ones I've sometimes bought myself a drink but that's about it - and you don't have to xx
