Why is my 17 month old burping so much?

Hey guys! My 17 month old DS has a fever and he’s on the mend currently. He’s been burping so much since the last 2 days too though, since he got the fever. I have no idea why! He eats well and healthy, I’m still breastfeeding him, nothing has changed? Any ideas?

Has he got a snuffly or blocked nose? If so he is probably swallowing more air than usual when eating/drinking, hence the burping.

He doesn’t have a blocked nose tbh, but he had a fever since the last 3 days which is also when the burping started. He had a bit of a cough too but that’s better now
