Ditching the dummy! - issues with naptime

Hi there,
I took the plunge yesterday and ditched the dummy for my 2.5 year old. He put it in the bin himself, no tears, amazing. He took a lot longer to fall asleep at night that normal, but slept through fine until his normal wake up time. However I put him down for his nap today (he is normally a massive sleeper - still has a 2 hour nap which I have to wake him from!) but he would just not fall asleep. He just led there for a hour and half tossing and turning before I gave in and got him up.
he definitely still needs a nap, his mood is effected if he gets too tired (dreading this afternoon!) I’m also pregnant and work from home 3 days a week so desperately need him to sleep for those 2 hours a day.
I thought about reintroducing the dummy just for nap times until he is at an age to drop the nap, but I don’t want to confuse him now I’ve got rid of it. I also think it’s the second day .. could he adjust and start getting used to napping without it? Just thinking the worse atm!
any one experienced a similar issue?

thanks

We dropped the dummy a little younger, so things might be different, but I think I'd push through at the moment. It took about a week for things to settle down sleep wise without it
