Returning to work - clingy baby

Hi all,

I'm heading back to work soon and I'm so anxious as little one is really strong minded and when she wants her mum she wants her mum! She holds her breathe, is hysterical etc but only when she's tired or feeling a little unwell. You can't distract her or anything, when I show up she's fine.

Otherwise she's fine to go to grandparents and dad so not like she has separation anxiety.

I'm looking for advice on what I can do to make things easier for her :(

How old?

Agree - how old ?

when my DD was 9 months she was a mess that is when they have separation anxiety as they realise you and them are not one person .

Try leaving her with your husband, family members in increasing time amounts. Sadly if you have to work your DC will just have to get over it … it’s shit but if you need to work you need to work 🤷

If it helps, my second was just like this but wouldn't go to grandparents. She went on hunger strike the first week of childcare and came hoarse from crying and breastfed for her country evening and night. It was upsetting but she got with the programme within a week. Miserable week but now she's fine, I promise
