Need to make a decision this morning, help please!

DC are at pre school 1 for 2 days and nursery 2 for 2 days. Pre school is term time, school hours, nursery is year round and longer hours. Baby is also at nursery 2.

Here’s the issue. DC cry at every drop off about nursery 2 and beg to go to pre school. We now have the chance to move them after Easter but I’m questioning if it’s the right decision. The nursery room leader is amazing, does lots of activities suited to their interests and really cares about them but they say it’s boring and they have no friends. Pre school is more like a playgroup, nice teachers but definitely less invested/ interested in their personalities.

Would you move them for one term before they start school? it will make life logistically harder but they are both sensitive little ones and I want them to start school happy. Help! I need to decide by lunchtime if we are going to move their funded hours.

I would but you will have a notice period for nursery

Thanks @Autienotnaughtie, I’ve already spoken to the nursery. They are on funded hours so no notice period.

How are they are pick up?

My daughter keeps crying that she wants to go to school not preschool/nursery in the mornings but in the evenings she's hiding from me as she doesn't want to come home. Some of her fellow preschool children have moved to a school based preschool so I think part of it is wanting to go to the mythical place they have moved too as you know new is always better to a 3 year old unless it's something new that mummy needs you to do

@Superscientist they are fine at pick up which says a lot, but in any conversations at home about it they get upset and say they don’t want to go.

I think I’ve decided to move them…..think I have anyway….!
