Hi all,

My DD has never been a brilliant sleeper but we hit the 4 month regression and it got really bad then okay again.

However, for the past week, she's been up every 1.5-2 hours from 7.30pm. I've got in to the habit of feeding to sleep so rocked her a few times when she woke and that seemed to work. We hit midnight and she spent most of the time trying to roll in her bassinet. I presumed it was because she needed more space but realised that she was searching for me as on most days, I've popped her in with me about 5am and fed side lying.

I feel awful as it's me that's created the habit through laziness/exhaustion but trying to grab what I can with a 5 month old & a 2 year old.

She's not hungry and she won't take a dummy. Has anyone got any tips? I've not had a block longer than 3 hours since October & I'm starting to struggle.

Thank you x

Reflux or fast letdown?

My daughter only fed lying down at 4-4.5 months so slightly younger. The reason was my fast letdown so lying down was easier for her and her reflux. She was a lot calmer when lay in my arms and the reflux bothered her less. At 17 weeks we went to high dose reflux meds and I took out dairy and soya from my diet and it improved loads.

We coslept, it gave me the sleep I needed. I found it hard to be in constant contact with me. For a while she was in my arms for 23h a day, I got rather touched out! Once she was able to do start the night in her own cot it got easier. If bringing her into your bed at 5 or 4 or 3 gives you both a bit of peace and rest and you can do it safely there's no harm in doing so. My daughter has always been a poor sleeper and I thought I would never get my bed back but now she has to be persuaded to come in to our bed in the night and much prefers me to squeeze into her bed instead! She's 3.5 now and reflux still has a detrimental impact on her sleep but she goes to sleeping through once the meds are working again

We are just starting to come out the other side of this at nearly 7 months. Baby waking every hour from bedtime until I go to bed and we cosleep. We are now getting longer stretches in the first part of the night but still cosleeping from around midnight/1am but I can see a light at the end of the tunnel!

Cosleeping has saved us, I would be a zombie without it - if that's an option for you. Don't beat yourself up. Responding to your baby's needs isn't a bad thing, you're doing a great job
