Eye colour

My DC is six months old and I’m confused about her eye colour. Both my husband and I have brown eyes and I am of south Asian heritage but her eyes seem to be a mix of colours.

What colour would you describe her eyes as?

Do you think they will turn brown? I’m hoping they do as I love brown eyes but I’ll be happy with whatever they turn out to be!

What beautiful eyes! They look quite greenish to me!!

have they changed at all since then?

They may well change and that can even be in toddler years. DH and I have blue eyes and when DD was born her eyes were black. They stayed black for about 3 months then slowly turned blue. 13 years later they are dark blue. Mine and DH's are lighter and more grey blue.

My DS still had blue eyes at 2 years, but now a lovely brown.

That’s incredibly interesting! We were told that eyes can only get darker, not lighter! Seems to have not been the case for your daughter, how amazing

They’re still green! They do tend to shift colour from grey/blue/green depending on lighting/clothing/weather. I’m still waiting to see if they will stick but I can’t imagine them any other colour now. (Excuse the frowning, it’s her favourite facial expression lol). One pic is from 2 months ago and the other from yesterday

I have no idea what will happen, but right now I would call her eyes greeny grey and say they (and she) are gorgeous!

Whereabouts in South Asia? Thinking quite a few people originating from certain regions have those colour eyes and it's a recessive gene so entirely possible they will stay that way. My sister has dark brown hair and hazel eyes, her husband dark brown hair and dark brown eyes and their first borne has (and still does in his late teens) blonde hair and blue eyes.

Pakistan, my mum told me my grandmother actually had the same colour eyes so maybe that’s where it comes from! I know they could still change to brown but they seem too light to become a dark brown

Blonde hair and blue eyes with that combo of parents colouring is crazy!
