Baby difficult to settle after feeds

My baby is nearly 5 weeks and during the day/evening can be incredibly difficult to settle after feeds, he's formula fed. It's not every time but more often than not and he'll just scream! Nighttime doesn't seem to be an issue!

I thought it was wind but he does burp and even if I try and put him over my shoulder he just wriggles like crazy and as he's quite strong he just wants to chuck his head all over the place! So it can be really difficult to burp him this way if there is anything left!

We've tried rocking him, cuddling him, music, signing. He takes a dummy which sometimes works or he can spit it out and easily start screaming again.

Or is this just normal newburn behaviour?!

FTM if you can't tell!

Sounds like the witching hour! It usually stops at around 6 weeks.

Do what you're doing; try and solve any obvious problems like hunger, wind etc. If there's no obvious problem then all you can do is hold them and ride it out.
