5 month old daughter, eczema??

My 5 month old daughter developed dribble rash a few weeks ago, this started off as a very small rash on one side of her cheek after a few days of intense dribbling (lol) and just at the top of her chest where her little double chin rubs it. I was keeping it at bay/almost clearing it with sudocrem/vaseline but over the last few days it got a bit worse and I made a GP appt.

The nurse practitioner advised it looks like eczema and prescribed Epimax and Hydrocortisone 1% for a week or so in the hopes it will clear it.

I’ve given her 2 applications of the Hydrocortisone but I feel like it’s made my daughter’s skin very red and it looks worse. Is this normal? I googled it and it says Hydrocortisone can make it redder at first but I’m just worried I’m making it worse. Finding it quite upsetting.

My DD suffers with eczema, I would carry in with the cream. It does work I promise. Have they also given you a base cream pie zerobase? I was given the steroid for bad patches and the zerobase as a normal cream.
