My three year old is so obnoxious

We had a sweet spot between about two and ten months and just gone three when he was pretty nice but lately has gone off the scale. Rude, defiant, says the opposite to anything you say (so I’ll say oh Bluey is on and he’ll shout at me IT’S NOT BLUEY.)

Even nice trips out are fraught with him ignoring me, running off and going the opposite of what he’s asked. I do deal with it usually by abandoning the trio but he doesn’t seem to care.

Really wondering what I’m doing wrong to be honest.

Nothing, he’s being a threenager, they are all pretty vile at that age but it will pass

Everyone says about terrible 2s but 3 is definitely worse!

My girl is about to turn 3 and she's getting worse and worse. I actually feel really sad like I miss my old child. She's always been sassy and knows her own mind but this is something else. What makes me the most sad is if I say for example she's clever, that's a good idea, you're being so brave etc she'll say she's not clever, not brave etc.
I'm just trying to ride it out tbh!

Mine was awfully rude at 3, it did calm down at 4.

He never seemed to listen at the time but I do think consistent correction worked.

Threenagers are so sassy 😂 A convo between me and my son yesterday:

Son: Oh look, a blossom tree!

Me: Yes it is, how pretty.

Son (stroppy): No mummy you're supposed to say 'Well spotted, G!'

Me: Uh... well spotted, G?

Son (preening): Thank you, mummy.
