Lapland UK Sold Out (2024)

Just a thread to say how gutted I am! I was sure I've signed up to waiting list email, bit I didn't get their email reminder. Saw on insta 10 mins ago that tickets went for sale today and they're already gone in 3 hrs!

Does anyone have any tips please, really don't want to miss out next year 😫 I don't know the process, do you need to be online exactly when the bookings open and you have a place in the queue? Didn't realise this like trying to book Beyonce's concert, it's open for 2 months! 😳

There's still some left!

Berlioze · 18/03/2024 15:27

I can't buy any! It shows some dates and then when I try booking it says sold out 😪

Have you tried kielder winter wonderland? It was magical

brogueish · 18/03/2024 15:41

I feel your pain. I had no idea it would sell out this quickly - genuinely! Do tickets ever get sold on or is that it now?

There are some twilight tickets left but with the journey, a 5.30 start won't work for us sadly.

Berlioze · 18/03/2024 16:11

I was obviously late to the party and less prepared than I thought.

I know it's very expensive, I thought I had it all cracked, thought I'd take DS in November on a weekday as he's in preschool so easier than when he's in school. Well, that's gone now so here's waiting for next year and paying for premium weekend tickets IF I manage to get in the queue. Epic fail and no money saved! 😩

Kielder looks lovely but sadly too far away for us to go for a day. If it's more than a day then with the costs of accommodation and paying for pet sitter for our pets it would cost me more than Lapland (but it's a lovely suggestion if we lived closer, thank you ❤️).

Yes, 5.30 start is too late for us too. It may have worked at 4.30 as they say you need 4 hours minimum.

In any event, even those tickers were funny, I tried adding them to my basket, but it would tell me they've just sold out.

It’s not that great, some bits (the initial storytelling especially) are too long winded. It’s oversold so activities are crowded and you just feel herded about . They also don’t like any disruption and we felt like one of our dc (ASD) was causing anxiety! A lot of frantic over the top interactions from staff and asking us to step out of one activity and although they tried to be nice about it we really felt like he was irritating them (nobody else there seemed bothered but it was like the elves were told to be ultra aware and remove any sources of noise from the activity)

Berlioze · 18/03/2024 16:29

Oh no, sorry you didn't have a great experience @Boredandstressed. When did you go if you don't mind me asking, was it peak time before Christmas? I know they now do dedicated ALN sessions.

I think it is always busy and tiring before Christmas unfortunately. I read many positive reviews on here before deciding I'd like to book for DS and I'd like to think he'll enjoy himself. When I was a child the real Lapland was my dream and I had that idea I'd take my kids there (no chance for me when I was growing up, my parents didn't care). This is obviously something I'd struggle to afford though, like most of us, so it's sort of the next best thing, as silly as it may sound.

We had looked at the superstar days but they were all booked so we went on a weekday afternoon beginning of December thinking it wouldn’t be as busy. I can appreciate they want to make money and visually it’s amazing but it was just too busy if they reduced the capacity a bit the experience would be a lot better I think

You need to be in the virtual waiting room before 12 when the tickets go on sale. At 12 you are randomly allocated a place in the queue. I was given position 39,000. Anyone joining after 12 goes to the back. It took 1hr 30 before I was able to buy and luckily got what I wanted.
Good luck for next year OP. As long as you are logged in when the queue opens you should be fine.

Berlioze · 18/03/2024 19:48

Thanks so much @AhBiscuits! I've signed up to their waiting list too in case someone might cancel/more tickets become available. 😄

There were some late ones released last year in November / December (cancellations I guess). We didn't book this year but went last year and loved it.

And yes you have to be really on it, In the queue before 12 to have any chance of getting tickets especially not the super expensive ones.

BabyB2023 · 18/03/2024 19:55

@Berlioze I’m so sorry to hear that :(
I did get tickets today, couldn’t really afford it but haven’t been before so gave it a go🥴Obviously it’s my first experience getting tickets but as you asked for some tips for next year I thought I’d say what I did.. so firstly followed Lapland uk on instagram for all updates leading up to today & I also joined the Lapland UK fan chat page on Facebook. These will both be really helpful to you next year as you won’t miss it with the amount of posts!
Today I logged in at 10am for a place in ‘the queue’, at 12 you get a random slot allocated & then just wait. I only waited 45mins but I’m aware some people wait hours & some didn’t even get any😔 it’s crazy, like you say a Beyoncé concert!! (Which I missed out on btw😭)
if I were you I’d set a reminder on your phone for early March next year & then keep an eye on the Lapland page. I did get an email from them saying booking was open….but that was after I’d got the tickets & I imagine if I’d waited until then I wouldn’t have got any!
I hope you find something else magical to do this year! We did the polar express last year & my son loved it so that might be a good alternative. Also do keep an eye out still as I’ve heard a few years they’ve put some extra tickets on sale around September time, you never know! xxx

Haveli · 18/03/2024 19:57

I was in the queue on my phone with DD in hospital where she's been since Friday. They decided to come and discharge us just as it was almost my turn and by the time we got home I'd missed it and it was sold out. Gutted to say the least but luckily I hadn't mentioned it to DD!

Berlioze · 18/03/2024 20:33

All duly noted thanks a lot @BabyB2023 & @TheOneWithUnagi! I'm usually the organised one but I've underestimated popularity of Lapland UK for sure! I'm going to be no 1 in the queue for next year at this rate 🤣

Aw no way @Haveli that's such bad luck! Come & join me on the waiting list, maybe we'll get lucky!

Also the Polar Express is a fab shout - I saw it last year and I definitely would like to take DS so I will keep my eyes peeled!

These things are so expensive but honestly, when I did the maths last year it cost us a small fortune to go to different local events anyway and it left me so exhausted. Every weekend was full and I was ill too, every year I have a bad cold in Dec. I really want to have a simpler run up to Christmas one year, with a focus on one special event and then family time.

OP posts:
AhBiscuits · 18/03/2024 20:38

I did baulk a bit at the cost, but it's only money. It'll be worth it if my children enjoy it as much as I think they will.

BabyB2023 · 18/03/2024 20:39

@Berlioze tickets for polar express went on sale 27th April last year so assume it will be a similar time this year. Get on their mailing list😊
Also I’ve just seen on the Lapland Facebook page there isn’t actually a second release but the cancellations go on their website around September time so keep checking. Someone also said the ‘cooling off period’ is 2 weeks (from today) & some people cancel by then/change mind & get money back so likely some tickets will be on there in 2 weeks. Good luck xx

spiralshape · 19/03/2024 03:08

They do normally sell more tickets in Sep /Oct, they don't launch an offical other sale but it's cancelled tickets. You just have to keep an eye on the website.

There is a Lapland UK fan chat on Facebook, if you join that people will post when they start seeing cancellations appear.

We went last year so I was aware how manic it is to get tickets, but I don't think they make it very clear. I logged into the waiting room at 11:30 and was 60,000 in the queue at 12 after I bought them I joined the queue again out of interest and was 240,000 it's madness!

If you keep on it you should definitely be able to get tickets.

BabyB2023 · 19/03/2024 13:19

@Berlioze just an FYI a few people are already cancelling their tickets - it’s being discussed on the Facebook page I mentioned above so defo keep checking the site as they’ll be coming up X

Berlioze · 19/03/2024 13:22

Oh thanks @BabyB2023! I just went on the website and there doesn't seem to be an option to buy any tickets there at the moment, at least I can't find it anywhere.

OP posts:
BabyB2023 · 19/03/2024 13:27

@Berlioze they won’t be on there just yet, but I imagine they will be over the next couple of weeks.. you’ll probably need to keep checking as you can’t be notified of them as far as I know.
If you join that group on Facebook people tend to post that they are cancelling so it will give you a heads up to book x

SnappyBird · 20/03/2024 10:13

I managed to get tickets I was one of the lucky ones! I joined the waiting room at 10am prior to the launch going live at midday! I think this actually helped me secure tickets within half an hour.Maybe next year do the same and I’m sure you’ll get the tickets and dates you want

mads20 · 11/06/2024 20:00

Hi all, just jumping on to say I have 4 x adult and 1 x child ticket available for 3rd December PM. I think the adult tickets could be changed to a child ticket if need be as I have authority from Lapland to transfer to another family due to being unable to attend for a medical reason. Happy to sell for the price we paid if anyone is interested :) xx

AhBiscuits · 26/09/2024 06:34

There are lots of tickets available on the website now. They are reselling the returns.

KNG2022 · 26/09/2024 11:50

Hi, lapland tickets are now back on sale on there official website. Hope the ones who missed out read this message asap! Goodluck
