Baby weight gain?

My first was born on 6th centile and stayed on the 10th thereafter.

This baby was born on the 25th centile, was 50th at second home visit check and is now on the 87th at 3 months 10 days. Is this typical? My first was formula fed but this one is ebf. His head also measure around the same (I know this because it also grew and they were keeping an eye on it) so overall he’s on a similar centile.

I wasn’t concerned but then saw a comment on an old Mumsnet post with someone saying that big weight gain in infants can sometimes be due to cardiac or endocrine issues! He’s not due another weigh in, should I get it done?

If he seems in proportion (so also quite long -hard to measure but you might get an idea based on what clothes he fits) I wouldn’t worry, he might just be finding where he is supposed to be. There is also a lot of error with the early measurements

Thanks. He was long when he was last measured but that was a couple months ago now! He is in 6-9 month clothing and the feet length is only a tiny bit too long so presumably he is still a long boy!

Mine was born on the 1st centile is now at 98th Centile! He is quite long now but was tiny at birth. He was in early baby clothes for 6 weeks, flew through 0-3, skipped 3-6 months clothes altogether and now at 8 months he’s mostly needing 9-12 months or bigger. I’ve now opted for footless everything where I can!
