Feeling miserable

i have 27mo and 2mo

i want to stop breastfeeding I hate it. DD constantly feeds I don’t get why ?? She barely goes 2 hours between feeds I don’t get why it’s so constant shouldn’t it be more spaced by now

i even gave her a 4oz bottle at 6pm she wanted to feed again at 7pm and now. She’s had 2 breastfeeds since the bottle

sbd now I’m worried about over feeding her and her gaining her weight to fast

she doesn’t sleep , about 1-2 hour stretches. Which makes me feel so worried as the 4 month regression is coming and teething

she’s so fussy :( I never got a content sleepy newborn and I feel myself rolling my eyes at people who just go on about how they’re newborn just sleeps and eats and mine has been so fussy and she does eat but it just makes me want to isolate as I can’t go out without her wanting to feed

Don't they cluster feed at 8 weeks? I remember both of mine being particularly tough around that kind of age and turning a page around 10-12 weeks.

If they're fussy, do they want a dummy rather than to feed?

pennypenn · 14/03/2024 20:57

I keep trying a dummy she won’t take it 😭😭😭😭 to the point where she gags when I pop it in

I mean she’s 2 months old. I think that’s pretty normal. But it doesn’t make it any less torturous. I hope she settles down.

12 weeks was the turning point for us feeding wise. People kept telling me that and I was like 🙄 but it was true.

Sorry but it does sound very normal for her age. I'm afraid I have a 4 1/2 month old who feeds frequently - she's just a little and often feeder. At points I thought about quitting breastfeeding but really glad I stuck with it. It's so much easier when out and about (although I appreciate not everyone is comfortable feeding in public) and no need to make up bottles in the middle of the night - I don't have to get out of bed. That said there are definitely positives to bottle feeding. You need to work out what is best for you.

I found the first two months absolutely brutal. Mine was definitely not a sleepy content newborn. Can't even remember most of it - just a blur now. Was about survival at the time! Maybe give yourself a set timescale eg two more weeks then re-assess then.

Yeah I know she is young I feel bad moaning. Just comparing to my eldest who would sleep a few hours at this point :(

is it normal to be this frequent ?

I get so embarrassed even when I need to do it when people visit I dread people visiting to meet her in case she needs feeding
