Hi are there any nurses on here, in particular paediatric nurses, who can offer advice regarding the best way to train around a young family please?

Thank you x

Do you have an excellent support network? And childcare for long days and nights? It’s hard but can be done!

You will need massive family support ….lots of long day shifts where you will be out of house at least 13 hours….and childcare for when you need to study ….lots of people do it ….but without a good support network it will be very very hard

Agree with above responses but don't assume that all your placements will be 12 hour shifts. Some (eg community or outpatients) might be over 5 days so make sure you have childcare options for that too. I've seen students get stressed over this.
