My 11 month old has recently started hitting and scratching. She doesn't go to nursery yet so wouldn't have picked it up from another child. She's an only child so no siblings to play fight with.
I was initially quite gentle in saying no, but I'm using a more firm voice to say no now and showing her it hurts by making an upset face. I also hold her hands and try to show her what gentle, kind hands should do eg. Kiss or stroke them. But then she goes on to hit or scratch again. And quite hard too. This has been happening for about 2 weeks now and I thought that was long enough for her to learnt that it's wrong.
Could this be a behavioural problem?
