Visitation reduced following child support

My partner reduced his CM payments to the minimum (explained in another thread). His daughter's mother is now claiming they're not available for him to visit until May (despite there being a date pre-arranged for this month that she has now cancelled. He works Mon-Thurs and she is saying there are no Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays where his daughter isn't busy with other family members/on trips until May. She's almost 2 for context. He's had a meeting with a solicitor this week but is concerned mentioning this will inflame things. Thoughts?

He needs to keep a record of everything, do mediation and then apply to court if that isn't successful. Sounds like she's trying to alienate him from the child in order to get more money out of him, and doesn't take much at such a young age. Child maintenance isn't a fee for child contact, they are separate issues, and he isn't obliged to pay more as long as he is paying the minimum. Anyone reasonable should understand that he can't keep paying 3-4x what's required - that would be almost his entire pay on a NMW job and it will stop him from bettering himself to provide more for his child. Paying what's required doesn't make him a deadbeat dad, he's doing better than a large percentage of men out there.
