@PfizerFan How long did you have to wait for the physio? My baby turned 11 months yesterday and got referred a month ago by the hv and I've not heard anything yet. I'm getting really worried as he can't do anything either. Could sit unsupported from 6 months but didn't learn to roll until 8.5 months from back to tummy and 10 months from tummy to back. He's just started pivoting a few weeks ago but doesn't move forward at all. Can't get himself into sitting, won't put any weight on his knees even if I help support and will only stand for a few seconds with support. He's doing well on everything else though so I just don't know what's wrong.

@Kelvie103 we were already under the physio's care due to torticollis so it got picked up via a check up on that (not that I didn't already know!) Have you tried calling up and asking if there are any cancellations? Perhaps the HV forgot to refer you on i'd definitely keep pushing for it! Your baby sounds similar to mine, let me know how you get on!

Hiya, I’m hoping you see this as this post is now a year old but I was just wondering how your little one got on in the end? My LG is 9 months and 1 week old and we are in exactly the same boat you were. Your post could literally be describing my daughter. Just want some reassurance and hope cos I’m starting to really worry xx

Hiya! My daughter, just turned 22 months old, has been delayed in her gross motor skills. She started army crawling at 10.5 months, and didn't proper crawl on hands and knees until almost 14 months. She only just started walking last month at 21 months. She's been in physio, and the physio says she's hypermobile but isn't concerned. Now she's walking, hoping to get her signed off at the next appointment.
At 9 months though, there's such a huge range of development, i wouldn't worry right now.

Have you spoken to the HV and what did they say?

I have two children now grown up and in their 50s.Older one never crawled on all fours but shuffled along on his tummy making swimming movements before pulling himself up and and walking by holding onto furniture at 13 months then letting go and waking at 14 months.Younger one crawled properly everywhere and managed to crawl upstairs but refused to get up and try to walk, we noticed he worked out he could reach things sooner by pointing to something and yelling until someone got it for him!.By 21 months was still making no effort to walk and I was getting worried until I left him with my mother-in-law for a few hours. When I returned he came toddling to me when I came back.I exclaimed with joy that he was walking, she replied that he had been walking all over her house since just after I left him.As well as being pleased I could not hep feeling miffed that that I had missed his first steps, he walked for her and not me!.One of his daughters never walked until the same age either. She was very flat footed and ''walked'' on her knees from one year old.
All children are different.I can remember my great grandmother saying when I was a child about one of my siblings,''Do not force the baby to walk, it makes it have bandy legs''

I’ve called and spoken to them twice but just keep being told that they’re not worried and to just see how she goes until her 10 month review. But my mother’s instinct is just telling me something is wrong and I’m just getting fobbed off. It’s so hard not to worry when I see babies 3 months younger than her doing all the things she should be doing xx

At nine months my baby couldn't crawl but could bum-shuffle and started pulling to stand.
By ten months, they -basically overnight - started crawling and also worked out how to go back or front to sitting.
Now almost 11 months and cruising along the furniture all day long. Just stood independently for the first time today (for half a second!). They change SO rapidly.

Yeah, that's what I was told. I'm sure your little one is absolutely fine, but if you are concerned, definitely be pushy. Have you tried going to the GP? I got a paediatric physio appointment through then (HV was useless and fobbed me off!). Everybody thought i was a paranoid first time mum, but I was sure from about 5 months old that there was something up with her gross motor skills so trust your instincts! Again, please don't panic, I'm sure there isn't anything wrong with your daughter and she's just taking her time but keep pushing if youre worried!! While 9 months was too early to tell in my case, it did turn out she was hypermobile and required physio, which she wouldnt have got if i'd just listened to the HV. Let me know how she gets on x
