Hi ,

My little boy is 4 weeks old he is currently taking 5oz of Kendamil which I keep having to up but it seems like no matter what I give him it's never enough....he is constantly searching for more . My HV suggested cooled boiled water but even this hasn't settled him! Kendamil has him constipated for days and then he is crying until he finally manages to poo which can take a while and he comes really unsettled! Which is unusual for him as he is a contented baby....also after his feeds he is bringing it up too (not projectile though) any suggestions ???

It sounds like his formula doesnt agree with him. I had to move my DD onto SMA Comfort milk as she struggled to digest the lactose and use to be in such pain, since switching it made a huge difference. Its also a thicker consitency so helped to make her feel full.

If its not working dont be afraid to try something new, all babies are different and what works for one wont work for all x

Sounds like he has some silent reflux as well as the physical reflux. One of the symptoms is comfort feeding. My daughter gets absolutely desperate for more milk (now oat milk) as it hurts and the milk soothes it but also causes more reflux. My 3 year old scream for 2h at 2 am the other day wanting more oat milk having had some 40 minutes earlier. If we don't limit what she has overnight she would have 20oz and desperate for more ... Just note we didn't limit until we saw the clear cause and effect and she was 18 months at this point.

It might worth a conversation with your GP or HV about potential reflux and treatment options.

I thought it was a formula issue too! I picked up cow & gate last night but sooo many peoples have suggested the same as u! Sma comfort due to the thickness...he's only had 1 bottle of cow & gate this morning do you think I would be ok to change it again now?

Yeah it should be - if you have a lot of cow & gate left over then try it, it may work! I tried cow & gate but had the same issues but every baby is different x
