Child maintenance SEN

does anyone know the rules relating to when child maintenance from partner will stop if child has SEN

CMS can only enforce for kids under 16 or under 20 in full time education. Past that, it’s out of CMS remit.

After that there is some scope to apply to courts who can order further payments for children with SEN/additional needs, it requires both parents to disclose their finances, assets, income & the costs involved in the child’s ongoing care and based on all info the courts can come up with some reasonable financial order going forward. Essentially it depends how how severe the needs & care are, I work with adults some of whom have gone through this and the ones I personally know who have succeeded had quite high care needs x
