Refusal of Mediation

Dear All ,

I would love to get a bit of an advice . I have recently serparated and my ex partner is frightenes me to take me to court and his solicitor sent me an invitation to attend a Mediator . I do not intend to attend a meeting with a Mediator as I am sure ut won’t resolve anything and just to let you know that my ex partner has all the possible time to spend with his children , but he never made it a quality time and keeps offending my eldest daughter constantly , so I have to protect my children . We also had a separation we went through many years ago and attended mediation and it was the most embarrassing time in my whole life as he didn’t let anyone speak or explain anything and him being a Narcissist says it all .
I told his solicitor what my thoughts were and I just wanted to know if I refuse the mediation this time it won’t be taken against me ? Thank you .

Was there any abuse/coercive control or similar within the relationship?
If so mediation isn't appropriate and a mediator would not permit. My sisters ex tried to force mediation but it was shot down due to abusive within the relationship.

If you don't want mediation, I think for it to look favourably you would have to come up with an alternative rather than flat out say no.
What do you want to happen next?

You can have mediation not face to face where each person is given time to talk.

Hi - this blog below may help.

Just remember at court you are deferring the decision making to a judge and they may not give an order that works for you or your daughter. Best of luck in getting this resolved. refual to mediate

Will it look bad if I refuse to go to Mediation?
