8 month old sleep

My LO’s (8m) sleep has never been great since the 4 month sleep regression. He’s really prone to split nights and still wakes to feed around twice a night. I thought we’d made some progress recently where for about a week or so he was feeding just once and going straight back down, but otherwise sleeping 7-7!
However I got a stomach bug last week where I couldn’t look after him for a day, I still breastfed him, and dealt with him in the night, but was bed ridden in the day time and my husband and mother in law did a shift each. For some reason since then he’s done a split night every night and woken at least twice for a feed. My supply did dip when I was ill and he went into a feeding frenzy the next few days to bring it back up but it’s fine now, and last night was the worst night! Up at 11:30 for a feed, then up between 2:30-4:30 with a feed at each end 😴, with quite a lot of screaming involved during the split which isn’t like him.
Hes going through some separation anxiety, and wanting to breastfeed for 25 minutes plus per feed when it’s normally 10 mins, and will scream if unlatched early. He eats solids well but you may see from my other threads that he’s allergic to eggs and we’re trialling dairy free for both of us as he has quite severe eczema. So weaning hasn’t been straightforward!
Is this sleep behaviour normal? Will it just be another phase and calm down? I’m so tired! If it’s any relevance he naps twice a day at 10ish for 1.5-2hours then again at 3ish for 45mins-1 hour. He can self settle for these and goes in his cot.
