First world problems I know but how hard is it to get a decent photo of a toddler. My little boy wont stand still for a photo manage to get the odd nice selfie then realise he has a runny nose on it lol 😂 might have to book a professional shoot see if they can get a nice one of us. That would probably be hard work though.

Not sure a petition or protest will help overcome this issue op😬😁

You might need MN to move this to parenting or chat. You’ve posted in petitions and activism.
Maybe try bribery? You can get DC to do most things for a chocolate button.

Get a hand puppet for him to focus on and chat through the hand!

What camera are you using? You may find it easier with a "point and shoot" or DLRS than using your phone.

There are loads of good deals on fleabay...

Ha ha yes I just go for action shots, with enough of them you'll get something you like. The traditional sit there and smile on demand just isn't something I've really managed, once they can understand that, the smile becomes a photo face anyway which is even worse!

Professional photographer here! Bribing always works 🤣

incywincyspiders · 25/02/2024 16:17

On one photoshoot, I kept having to bribe the child with McDonalds to get them to do as I was asking (with the parent's permission obviously) 😂

That being said I always think candid photography is better and captures childhood in a more realistic way so I wouldn't worry too much ☺️

The best photos for us are caught in a moment. So today we were at the park and I had my phone in one had pushed with the other. Took about 10 photos there's one of her looking good eyes open and not licking snot from her nose.

If you get them to pose continue taking photos after they have gotten bored of photos and usually you find a good one then

We do a photo book every year and this year we had about 400 photos across both parents and 2 sets of grandparents and kept 4-8 per month. A lot of which involved snot and similar but were true to the moment with maybe one super cute snap perfectly caught per month. I don't take a huge number which for us makes those special ones stand out more

Take a video of him and then screenshot the times he looks at you/smiles 👍🏻

But be aware the resolution will only be that of your screen, which if only viewed on your phone will be fine.
