Constant sickness

This is my daughters first year in a childcare setting and I am really not exaggerating when I say that since before Christmas she has only had 2 weeks where she was without some sort of sickness. Mainly coughs and colds but tummy bugs also.
At the moment she has a temperature that seems to be coming and going, lethargic and then this morning she has started to get green gunk in her eyes which she has never had before.
She doesn't eat any vegetables at all so I'm sure this doesn't help. She stills wakes twice a night also. She is having some bloods done this week to see if there is anything going on.
Her hair is very thin and I just feel like she is picking up way more infections than what is normal. I'm worried about her health.
Is it normal for them to be so sick so often? We have been to doctors often and just told its viral and nothing else.

Sounds very much like my DD's experience when she started nursery. I had been warned but wasn't expecting it to be as full on as it was. Hate to say but it didn't really improve for around 12 months, she was ill constantly and at the GP countless times. it does get easier once their immunity has built up, just a case of stocking up on the Calpol and getting through it really, I think it's pretty normal so try not to worry too much. Hope your LO is feeling better soon.

Yeah this is pretty standard to be honest. No harm running some checks but don't be surprised if they don't show anything. We were constantly ill for the first 6 months and are still fairly constantly ill from Oct - Jan. it's exhausting but you just have to buckle in for the ride and get through it. Sending sympathy.

We have had the same. My DD started nursery in July and has been constantly I’ll since October. The first few months over summer were OK but winter has been brutal.
