Difficulty bottle feeding 6 months baby

Hi all, I'm FTM and DS has just turned 6 months old. He's been bottle fed breast milk and formula since birth (never learned to latch) without much problem. He's started solids recently but is not eating that much yet, mainly just playing with the food.

However it's just getting increasingly difficult to bottle feed him, with him constantly looking distracted. Previously he had no problem finishing 150ml bottles but now sometimes only has 70-80ml. We've switched to fast flow teats but it feels like it may not be fast enough for him? Wonder how mums bottle feed your bigger babies? Use an open cup?

Thanks!

We struggled to get DS to take a bottle at all so went straight to giving expressed milk in a sippy cup from about 4 months. We use the Munchkin miracle 360 cups which seem to work well. Could also just be a phase that they get so distracted by everything they just aren't that interested in milk in the day time. Is he drinking more at night to make up for it? Could you try offering the milk in a quiet dark room so he's not so distracted?

@User2123 thanks for sharing your experience! I'll check out that cup. DS did drink a full bottle later though with some reluctance. I begin to think that maybe sometimes he is just not very hungry or interested in milk, despite being 3-4hrs since the last feed. He does seem to get more hungry and drink more in the evening.
