Car seat help!

Hi all!
We had to replace our car seats from Halfords due to a minor car accident. Chose Joie 360 I Spin for 14 MO as she’s happy to rear face.

We didn’t know any better and changed our first born to forward facing when we were able to (he was a menace in the car seat!). He is 3y5m, 15.5kg. We have picked Joie I-Trillo FX:

However I’ve seen a post from another user (they sound like they know their stuff) who suggested the Traver.

The Traver is actually £25 cheaper but I want to get the better seat regardless of price - happy to pay more.

Can anyone recommended anything, just has to be from Halfords :)

If you're interested in turning him back to rear facing I believe your insurers can't force you to use the Halfords vouchers if your preferred car seat isn't available from there, from what I've seen in FB people have bought car seats from elsewhere and submitted the receipt.

The traver is not a recommended seat. If you join yh car seat safety UK group on Facebook, they know their stuff and they will advise you on what seats are safe and recommended. The trillo is a recommended seat though as long as your child meets the height and weight requirements. However at 3 years and 15kg he is much to small for a high backed booster seat which is what a joie trillo is and he needs a proper car seat still. Ideally rear facing as it is much safer.

Also yes you do not need to use Halfords. I had an accident last June and they roed to Palm me off with Halfords vouchers. I argued the toss with them and they let me buy a seat with a budget of what I laid fory old in and I just sent them the receipt. I bought a swedish plus tested seat extended rear facing from a company called simply safe car seats, they tell you what seats are recommended and help you with the fit and checking it's safe for your child.

Thank you for taking the time to reply! Unfortunately we already took the vouchers and have purchased the spin seat so I don’t think I can go the other route now.

I’ll have a look at this website for recommendations, I’ve read a bit more and the Maxi Cosi Titan looks more appealing.

Thank you!

I wish I’d known earlier! All this is so new to me I didn’t realise I had the choice.

I think people have had success returning the vouchers as well when they've done the same thing, highly recommend the Extended Rear Facing FB group for advice
