I’m wanting to add more oily fish into our family’s diet. At the moment bbc good food salmon pasta and peas recipe goes down well. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

We used to enjoy tinned sardines in tomato sauce, mashed up on toast put under the grill. And smoked mackerel, mixed with cream cheese into a sort of pate texture. Fish pie. Baked salmon.

Kedgeree was always popular with my lot when they were younger

Smoked salmon & cream cheese bagels good for lunches.

You could make mackerel or sardine fish cakes. The flavour on its own can be too strong for children, but blended with potato, panko breadcrumbs and lightly fried, with some mild chilli sauce and veg, I bet they'd like it.

Not oily fish, but DC used to love kedgeree made with cod, haddock or hake.

Roast salmon slices in sweet chilli and soy with egg noodles and a bit of stir fried or steamed veg they like?

Egg fried rice with flaked salmon is popular here although DS is now 22 so can’t really be classed as a child! Plus fish pie made with a mix of salmon and white fish. Plain pan fried salmon so it goes crispy is also nice.

Thank you for the ideas.
