I am becomming increasingly wound up over my eldest son's attitude to everything.
He's so lazy. He's 9 and nothing seems to interest him unless it involves My Chemical Romance or the computer.
He's a little behind at school, simply because he puts no thought into his work at all, he just rushes it down, missing bits off in order to get it finished asap. When he writes anything it reads like it has been written by a 4 year old, it just doesn't make sense because he can't be bothered to put any effort in.
I ask him to read one chapter of his book a day and as soon as I mention it he umms and arrs saying he "cant find it" or "has headache" etc etc just because he can't be bothered, even though its a book he loves.
When he gets dressed his trousers are all twisted around his legs etc...I point it out and he whinges that "it doesn't matter". I saw his class going in to PE last week and all of them were dressed properly apart from DS who looked like he'd been dressed by a 2 year old. He just doesnt care.
Today he wanted to wear a certain belt, I told him it was in his bedroom so he went in, stood in the doorway, glanced through it and said "can't find it, I won't bother"
Because he's so behind with English we're keeping a diary at home so he can practice writing things down in a way that makes sense.
I asked him to remember what he did today and write it down. He said he couldn't remember I wouldn't mind but it wasn't exactly something he does every day! (snowball fight with neighbour, came in drenched from head to foot to a nice cup of hot chocolate and a warm bath!). Even his 7 year old brother had to point it out to him in the end.
All he cares about is the bloody PC. Are all 9 year olds like this?
