Potty training - how to know when to stop?!

DS is 2.9 and has seemed interested in wearing pants, being a 'big boy' etc and so I thought I'd have a go at potty training. Over the past three days of starting there has been no progress - he doesn't want to sit on the potty or the loo and doesn't seem particularly bothered when weeing all over the place (tells me, sometimes, when it's happening but that's all). We've had to go out a couple of times and, because of this, I've just put him in a nappy, which I think has been completely the wrong thing to do too.

I have no idea at all what I'm doing and don't know if I should persevere (I know 3 days isn't very long!) and risk it becoming a battle of wills (which has happened with DS before in other situations) or have a break for a bit then try again. I'm also getting really stressed by the whole thing which isn't helping! Can anyone offer any advice or just make me feel a bit better about it all? Thanks

Just wait! Why get stressed - ds will just end up thinking there's something really stressful about toilets and potties.

Wait until May/June/July when the weather is better and you can leave him in fewer clothes - and get the wet ones drier quicker...
