Dropped phone on baby's head

I'm tired and ill so hope it's making my anxiety worse/ over thinking it.

My husband dropped his iPhone on my 11 weeks head, read in the internet about different things to look for but she's fallen asleep. This is her normal sleep time, and will sleep for 9 hours normally.

I'm so upset.

I think everyone has dropped their phone on their babys head and one time or another 🙈

mynameiscalypso · 17/02/2024 23:44

I did this several times. My SIL did it to her two week old the other day. It happens a lot and babies are generally absolutely fine.

Everyone's done this. I certainly did. No harm done.

Agreed. Lots of times with my dd, now 3.5yo. No sign of brain damage unless you count being addicted to cheese.

Only once so far with my 2mo ds.

It'll be fine, op!

Ps I recommend a pop socket

My daughter has an 8 week old, and I said to her the other day it's amazing that she hasn't dropped her phone on him yet. It's coming, without a doubt. I'm sure your little darling is perfectly fine. 😊

I've done this, DS has a tiny bruise on his forehead. I cried but I never did it again.

Worst thing is though if I had just let it fall it wouldn't have hit DS but I tried to catch it and ended up directing it to his face Blush

Notaflippinclue · 17/02/2024 23:53

As long as you don't drop the baby on the phone - only joking - he'll be fine

prayingformyrainbowbaby · 17/02/2024 23:58

Thank you all, nice to know it's a common accident. She might get a good night sleep but I know I won't

Did it to both my babies back when it was a brick of a blackberry not an iPhone.
Cried for 2 days when the bruise appeared on DS2s forehead.
We've all done it OP and if we've not done this exactly, we've done other things that seem horrendous at the time - clipped baby's skin instead of finger nail (DH with DS1), accidentally zipped up their chin (DM with DBro).

We've all done it, the horrible feeling passes, I promise!!

I once tried to close the buggy with 1 week old DS still in it. I was kicking it because it wouldn't close when my dad came running over with a face of utter horror, shouting "the baby's still in there". In my defence I'd been in hospital for six weeks before I had him and he did not sleep.

Honestly OP it's a rare baby that hasn't had something dropped on its head, or been allowed to roll off a bed or similar. She will be fine!

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 18/02/2024 01:08

I did it recently, baby must have been about 5 weeks old. He didn't even wake up when it hit him, was a glancing blow. Me crying with the guilt sure woke him up though!

LilBus · 18/02/2024 01:11

I’ve never done this personally but have dropped my phone on my own face many times 😂so can see how it happens! I wouldn’t worry
