My baby hates being with other people

My baby is 5 month old and cry and screams if anyone else hold her other than myself or my partner. She hasn’t been left with anyone else since she has been 3month old as she just doesn’t settle with anyone anymore. Even when I’m sat at the side of her and she can see me she cries until I have hold of her again. Sometimes she’s okay for 10 minutes but other times it’s straight away. This wouldn’t be an issue but I’m due to go back to work in a couple of month and I’m worried she’ll be the same as my mum would be taking her all day.
Has anyone had this issue or has any advice?

My baby was similar although we’re now a month on and I’ve seen a big change in her as she’s reached 6 months. The good thing as they get older means you don’t have to hold them so much as they can do more on their own so maybe as this happens she will be okay with it being someone else. I’d say all you can do is build it up with your mum and she will get to know her more. It’s hard when you just need a break of even an hour at times!

My daughter was the same. She started nursery at 9 months and settled beautifully even though the rest of the time she cried if I went to put a tissue in the bin 3 steps away. She was worse settling into her second nursery at 2 and I could leave her with family that point
It was hard but we got there. For now just follow her lead and in the few weeks before your mum takes on the childcare roll start some "settling in sessions" like she would get at nursery. A couple of months is her whole life all over again. They change so much around 6 months and then between 6 and 12 months they develop socially loads. Once they can move a little and make noises of expression having mummy in touching distance is less important
