I’m so concerned about my daughters sleep since she started reception, she’s exhausted but will not sleep until earliest 10/10:30
it’s so draining every night trying to get her to fall asleep
she’s usually exhausted after school and nearly falling asleep but I keep her awake so she sleeps at bedtime but she doesn’t even sleep early
i wake her up for school about 8:15
how much sleep does a 5 year old need?

My eldest is 4 so I'm not quite at your stage yet but when he went through a phase of having very late bedtimes, I spoke to nursery and they says to bring back bed time by 10 mins each night.

So for your daughter try and start bedtime 10 mins earlier tomorrow, and then 10 mins earlier from that time the next day etc etc until you get to the time you want.

I'd say 7.30/8pm until 6.30/7am would be ideal

Have you tried putting her to bed basically as soon as she gets in?

Sounds like she getting a second wind
