Ds shoes issue

Hi so my ds 21 months can fit in size 6 boots and wellies but not in size 6 or 6.5 trainers. Its not a foot length issue it's more his feet are wide and high (if that makes sense) so when I put the shoes on I can't fasten them shut and he cries. I've ordered some size 7s off vinted just incase maybe he does need to side up. We normally go Clarks to get fitted but our local one shut down couple of months ago. Any suggestions if the size 7 doesn't work. Any mainstream shoes that cater to wide feet or do I need to go 30 min drive away to my nearest Clarks store and have to buy Clarks for him the rest of my life. Thanks x

Sounds like my son. He has super wide feet. The only shoes we’ve ever found to fit him are Froddo barefoot shoes, and we have to size up a full size. They are very expensive but extremely sturdy and durable and each pair has lasted him about 6 months. Could be worth a try?

I’ve found getting shoes for my toddler tricky too. I ordered one of those foot measuring things from start rite so I can measure his feet myself (there is a strap to check width). I then buy just the ones I need off Vinted (as they’re so expensive new). I find as long as I stick to that brand I’m okay , but shoes from other brands are very hit and miss about if they will fit!

Do you have an independent children's shoe shop nearby? They usually stock lots of different brands of shoes and are good at finding something to fit odd shaped feet.

Ooo thankyou I'm gonna have a look into start rite I'm sure my local town centre has a store that stocks them might pop down with ds tomorrow and get him measured.

He's got my cursed feet of low arches and allot of my family are big size feet. He's 99th percentile on his height and weight so probably why normal shoes don't fit him much x

We have wide feet, and trainers are difficult. Football boots are especially hard to get in a wide fit when they start to need them. For when they are olde, brands my dc wore in primary school were Clarkes and Sketchers, if there aren't shops nearby, then plan it around visits to outlet villages, which will bring the prices down For cheap messing about in pumps when they were little, shoezone seemed to fit wide. The only shoes that seem to fit now my dc are teens are Sketchers and Adidas.
