Play therapy experiences

The school has recommended that we look into play therapy for our 11 year old DD. She is a very soft and sensitive soul who is easily upset by jokes or general banter and worries a lot about things.

has anyone experience of getting play therapy for a child like this. Was it helpful?

Play therapy is excellent and highly
effective for anxious children. When I taught in mainstream we saw improvements in probably three quarters of those seen. We had a therapist come into the school with all the toys and sand tray and she gave us a talk about the benefits.
Nothing to lose if school are offering it. Seems a lovely and nurturing activity if nothing else.

Thank you. The school aren’t offering it they are recommending we seek it out privately. But we are happy to pay for it if it helps.
