Back to square one

DD, 3 1/2 has been doing really well. We had lots of problems with awful constipation and she has been on laxitives for about 3 months. As soon as we started on them things go better within a couple of week and she went from soiling her pants every day (only little bits) and screaming in pain, to going on the toilet by herself.

Last week she had a severe chest and throat infection and was put on very strong antibiotics. This caused her to have extremely bad diahorrea so we stopped her Movicol thinking it would make it worse. Since she has been off the antibiotics we are right back to square one. Screaming in pain when she needs to go and having an almost total aversion to the toilet. Yesterday we gave her one and a half sachets of Movicol even though she is only supposed to have one as she was in so much pain.

I'm at a loss to know what to do. I guess it's just a question of being patient and waiting for things to get back on track, but it's so horrible to see her in such agony
