I've just seen my neighbour getting wheeled out into an ambulance, she is a single mum like myself but her children are between 4-6. Thankfully she had family there to help but the reason for my post is because of thoughts which have come up before and haunted me! I am always home alone with my 19 month old daughter, it's just us and always has been. My sister lives a 5 min drive away and my mum 20 mins but my question is - How do single parents prepare for emergencies that may arise involving them, leaving their children to fend for themselves/reach out for help. I have heard of ways parents teach their little ones to ask for help but that's not going to be something my daughter can do for at least a year or so and I would really appreciate suggestions of what any of you currently do or what do if you find yourself in these circumstances of needing emergency care and even worse, being unresponsive. It's a really sensitive subject and I feel so anxious and worried at the thought of it. Thank you
