Do Optibac probiotics cause upset tummy?

My 20month old toddler had a horrible vomiting bug a few days ago. I was suggested to try probiotics. I started Optibac drops 3 days ago and gave half the stated dose. He has since had loose stools..today he passed what was pretty much like toothpaste consistency . Does Optibac cause loose stools?

Pro and prebiotics can do yes. The growth in good bacteria causes the bad bacteria to die off, and the dead stuff is ejected - to put simply Grin

But to be honest, in a 20 month old could just as easily be a germ they've licked off the floor, teething, the tail end of the vomiting bug...

@headcheffer thanks for replying. Yes I'm not sure if he's teething or not as he won't let me see. Vomiting bug has subsided now but as I said could be the tail end coming out. Will continue probiotic for a few more days and see if it continues or goes back to normal
