More relaxed in second pregnancy?

Anyone here confirm or deny they were more relaxed in their second pregnancy?

When I was 3 months pregnant with my son, I went on a work trip and told my colleagues for the first time. As I sipped my soda water, my work friend congratulated me and told me 'I'm missing my period right now'. She already had one at home, and the next night she had red wine at dinner. I asked her, did you manage a test, she said yes and it was positive. I was so confused, I asked her if she drank and she said 'yeah only 2 red wines' followed up with, nothing is connected yet.

The next night she had two bright pink cocktails. I just couldn't believe it. Vs me who found out I was pregnant and hadn't been able to think of alcohol for 3 months.

Same with another friend, she was 7 months pregnant and had a small glass of white wine, and red wine over dinner, a rare steak, followed by a night cap. Again her second,

Final example, I went for Christmas drinks at a friends house and another 2nd time pregnancy, by way of a mum friend had a mulled wine, when it ran out she said she would like a second, at 5 months pregnant.

I'm 5 weeks pregnant and wondered if nothing is connected could I have a few sips of fizz at a work function, it's easier than not drinking all night, so I'm thinking of holding it and discarding it and maybe taking a few social sips if I'm in a convo.

Anyone else got stories similar or does this sound new?

I’m second time around, but wouldn’t say I’m any more relaxed so far (still in first trimester) but I would have a small glass of red wine maybe once every 3/4 weeks in the latter stages, as everything I had read suggested this was well within acceptable limits. Everyone has different risk tolerances though!

I'm 29 weeks with my second and I'm behaving exactly as I did with my first

I just read some of an older thread on here with 400+ comments, thread 'drinking in pregnancy'. The woman was stressed as she had drank a lot without realising she was 5-6 weeks pregnant.

Many of the comments say the placenta doesn't attach until 8 weeks and the yolk sac has little transaction between mum and baby.

Nature is very clever, I guess if it did have effects then many people wouldn't be on this earth. A lot of people don't know when they are 5 weeks pregnant.
