Really not sure how to tackle this one.. she goes to nursery 2x days a week and has a 3 year old cousin and a 9 year old cousin and gets on with them both like a house on fire.
Yet she just hates other kids! When we are in the park or soft play if she sees another child whether it’s a toddler or older one she will scream and say ‘no no no’, even if they are just walking past her. If there’s another child in the park she won’t go in. It was manageable, but now if she sees another child when we are sat in a cafe she will point and shout no and it’s so embarrassing!
We try and encourage her by saying ‘that’s just a little girl/boy, why don’t you wave hello’ which she then does, and they usually wave back and then suddenly she’s fine with them, unless they approach her and then she gets upset.
I wonder if this stems from her going to nursery and being around lots of other boisterous kids, but she’s been going there for 9 months now, so I’m not sure..
Any tips or solidarity. I pray this is just another phase!
