Toddler whingeing / moaning all night

My 18 month old is whingeing / moaning all night.

They aren’t awake necessarily (I’m not sure!), but it’s keeping me and DH awake. Sometimes they will stop and will fall asleep, other times it might escalate into crying.

It’s a moaning, groaning kind of a noise.

Anyone had any experience of this? They have no interest in a dummy so no way of just putting a plug in it.

How long have they been doing it? If it’s not what they usually do then it can be a sign of illness, my youngest often does this when ill or it’s a sign they’re getting ill. But he also made lots of noises in the night, cried out etc. until he was close to 4 and finally grew out of it.

Yes ours used to do that and it turned out to be asthma! They don't call it asthma when they're that young but it is. As soon as he got his blue inhaler it all stopped. Otherwise yes illness or maybe an intolerance to something he's eating.

Our 16 month old is doing exactly the same! Started a week ago around the same time we moved her bed time earlier, molars are also coming through so she has been teething allot for the same period of time. She is keeping us awake all night with the noises, please update the thread if you get to the bottom of it.
