2yo doesn't want dad for toilet or bath

My nearly 3yo DD doesn't want her dad to give her a bath or help her on the toilet, to the extent she now asks me to come with them into the bathroom when he's bathing her and asks me to wash her body instead. Is this normal? They have a good relationship otherwise, although she does generally show a preference for me.

It's a tricky one. Hard to say what's 'normal' as toddlers can be very particular. Have you tried asking her any questions as to why she feels that way?

Thank you. Yes, but when I ask her she says things like 'it's because I'm scared of the dinosaurs in the wardrobe' / 'because of the dragons coming to get us', so not helpful information in any way!!

Just respect her wishes. She’ll be aware there are separate toilets/changing areas when out and about for men and women, so she’ll be realising that intimate care is private.

My DD started asking for privacy from her dad when on the toilet around the same age so I imagine it is fairly normal.
