Not possible to safely co sleep?

My nearly 13 mo old sleeps perfectly in his cot ( still next to my bed ) but today he’s come down with a really bad cold , he’s really bunged up and he won’t sleep in his cot for longer than 15 mins without struggling and crying. As soon as I put hi. On me / cuddle on bed. I’ve just watched a film and he slept like a baby next to me but it’s half 3 now and I’m shattered. As soon as I put him in not long after he’s crying again. he’s even struggling to breastfeed his nose is that bunged.

my concern is he’s gonna get up whilst I’m asleep and fall off the bottom of bed , we have a really tall bed so I’m really scared. My husband says he will get up at 6 and watch us on the monitor but any chance of sleep before then?

also any tips for anything I can buy tomorrow to relieve his congestion? Are those Vicks humidifiers any good ? Thank you 😴

Can you put your duvet on the floor to cushion it slightly, then make yourself a floor bed with pillows and other blankets?

Sending solidarity - my 1 month old currently won’t be out of my arms after 3am every night 😩

Thank you will definitely get a plug in tomorrow. And thank you @Nestofcrowes might have to do that! And aw I remember those days, so solidarity right back. I was convinced I would never sleep again , my DS refused to go in his cot then it was like a switch at 6 month he just started sleeping through all of a sudden. Phew!

We’ve had this problem recently a lot too. My 18 month old has caught several awful viruses from nursery and only wanted to sleep upright on one of us which is exhausting, even worse than her sleep as a newborn except I didn’t have to work then. We have been taking turns but I was also wondering about the safety of her sleeping on us in this way if we fall asleep too. Our bed is also very high and I don’t want to get bed guards just for the times she’s sick as she normally sleeps in her cot fine. Would also appreciate any suggestions on what to do!

@wishIwasonholiday10 exactly same here , husband been helping a lot be he’s away with work for the next 2 days tomorrow. And I know we’re in for another night of no sleep but he sleeps like a dream in our bed. And like yourself usually fine in cot
