Hey everyone,

Lo is 18 months, he has a runny nose, has a slight chesty cough, and now diarrhoea.

Hes been farting a lot more and seems to have tummy pain every so often. His first nappy was runny and leaked through, but it has calmed down. His bum is so sore, and now there's small spots around his bum hole.

Anyone else had anything similar or the same symptoms just in case something is going round.

I'm speaking to the GP tomorrow

Do you have some sudocrem or bepanthen or any other nappy rash type cream? Their nappies can be a bit acidic when they are poorly which hurts the skin, as well as just the frequent pooing. Drying the area after cleaning (pat with muslin cloth), or let him have some nappy free time, and adding some cream before you put the new nappy on helps.

Just sounds like a normal cold to me, if you don't already have an appointment, you probably don't need to see the GP. It's common for younger children to get gastro symptoms with a cold. Poor baby. Lots of cuddles, fluids (juice, milk, water, ice lollies) and tuck him up on the sofa with a blanket and read some books or put the TV on for him.

That just sounds like every illness going I'm afraid. We have had a version of this once a month since October 🫠

You don't need a doctors appointment really unless he is running a fever that won't come down/lasts more than a few days or seems lethargic.

All really normal.
