Bike recommendations for small 4 year old

Can anyone recommend a bike that is lightweight but fairly small? 4 year old is 93cm, is good enough that won't need stabilisers so needs to be able to touch the floor which we are struggling to find something suitable.

Thanks

I would go to a proper bike shop (not Halfords!) and be advised by an expert with your child right there.

Try mini bikers cycles - they have some small lightweight bikes with pedals

Islabikes Cnoc14S was the smallest I found. They say approximate minimum height 92 cm, minimum inside leg 34 cm, so should hopefully fit your DC. Islabikes have stopped production, so you'd need to track it down secondhand, but they hold their value really well. Just check that it is a 14S, not a 14L or older 14 with no small/large marker. The 14L or older 14 need an inside leg of 38 cm/approx min height of 98 cm, so quite a bit bigger.

Second hand Isla or frog bike.
And read around for advice as to what is new and similar to the above. There are a couple more since I needed tiny bikes, but I can't name them off hand.

2nd hand Frog or Isla bike. Both have excellent sizing guides on their websites.

We didn't buy a lightweight for DS' first pedal bike because he was my PFB and I wanted a new one 🤦‍♀️. I didn't think what we'd bought was that heavy, but it was a struggle! Took a long time for him to be able to pick it up and get himself started off, even once he could pedal confidently.

He's grown out of it now and we've bought a second hand Frog. It's worlds apart. Even though it's a 20", it's about the same weight as his old 14". For any young child now, I wouldn't consider anything else.

That's brilliant, thanks so much

Have you found Cyclesprog website? They have reviewed all the good lightweight kids bikes. There may now be more options. Isla’s sizing was always conservative so you might even find a 14l works but you’d need to try it.
