DD just turned 17 months and cannot stand without support or walk. She also is not talking, she does babble but not a lot. I’m just worried. I read to her and sing to her but she will never attempt to repeat any sounds or words
I only know one child her age and the difference in speech is huge
If it was just one of these things I don’t think I would be so concerned

I have asked health visitor for advice and they said leave it a few months as she is within normal limits but I just would like to hear other opinions

Hi, well my little one failed her newborn hearing screen so it went from there really. They always follow that up with a longer test, which had to have asleep. That showed some hearing loss due to obstruction (ie glue ear) so they followed her up as they said it usually goes away. At 11 months we had the follow up and they said she still has glue ear but apparently not enough to lose speech. When I told them she was very late to babble they said they’d check her again at 15 months, but the appt has come through for August, by which time she’ll be 17 months. I’ll be asking for ENT referral if she’s still got glue ear at that appt (and no words)
