Hi,

Any ideas for a 4 year old boy? Not particularly into toys so very difficult to buy for!

Thanks

Try wicked uncle website.

Crafts
science set
magazine subscription

Polterpup95 · 24/01/2024 20:52

I would do
Nintendo Switch
The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword HD
Mario + Rabbids KINGDOM BATTLE

Tonie box

NameChange30 · 24/01/2024 20:58

Yoto player. Much better than Toniebox IMO.

Not a switch!! 4yo is way too young IMO. I gave one to my DS for Christmas but he's nearly 7.

Polterpup95 · 24/01/2024 21:10

What?! You're Crazy Gen Alpha gets technology young, you do not understand that.

RedRobyn2021 · 24/01/2024 21:11

Vote here for Yoto too, we got one at Christmas for my 3yo and she loves it. It's also meant her screen time has gone down to virtually nothing which can only be a good thing

Polterpup95 · 24/01/2024 21:13

I am into technology a lot and I understand what they want at young ages.

What children want and what is good for them is two different things.

Thanks everyone for your ideas. No plans on a switch but some other things to look into, thank you.

Legend of Zelda is absolutely not appropriate for a 4 year old

cheezelouize · 25/01/2024 18:33

A nice tent to turn into a den.

Just googled it - rated 12 Shock

Polterpup95 · 01/02/2024 14:23

What the Heck?! I will google this myself.

My son is 4 in March. So far I’ve picked up puzzles, a craft set, kinetic sand and a Blaze and the Monster machines truck.
he’s getting a new scooter off his Nan.

perhaps a bike?

Polterpup95 · 01/02/2024 14:27

The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword rating is E10+ and is great for ages 8 and up and I found that myself.

Merrow · 01/02/2024 14:32

VTech camera went down well with DS when he turned 4 - actual picture quality is awful but he can print them out, which has delighted him. The Galt kits are also well used here despite the age ratings (although he can't do them himself). Board games? Uno, shut the box, guess who and the peaceable kingdom ones we often get out.

Caledoniadreaming · 01/02/2024 14:37

We got a Yoto player, and UNO extreme for our DS (4 in January) - both massive hits.

Jigsaw puzzles are good as well.

Polterpup95 · 01/02/2024 14:38

Seriously?!

Alloveragain3 · 01/02/2024 14:49

Mine has really developed a liking for Lego now he's 4

Maybe pick a set that matches up with another interest he has e.g. vehicles or animals?

Or something to use in the park like a skateboard, scooter or roller skates?
