Hey mums,

Any of your babies suffered from ear infections?

My daughter who is 2 next month has had ear infection for last 2 months every 7-10 days and is seeing ENT specialist next month just wondering if anyone else has been in the same position as me. ( she gets fever and fluid coming from her ear)

Love to hear your stories as i feel very stressed about it all.

Thank you

Hey, how did your specialist appointment go? We’re in a similar position 8 courses of antibiotics over less than 12 months, just waiting on an appointment with ENT

Hey, Yes we know that feeling our daughter is exact same when we see the ENT she has been diagnosed with glue ear and not much can be done for my daughter as she is too young so we just have to rid it out and when she is in pain she goes on another lot of antibiotics. Best of luck and keep on at the doctors as we did!! We did go private in the end as NHS waiting list was 6 months!!

DD had recurrent ear infections since she was tiny and had grommets at 2, which helped somewhat.

We’ve had this with 17month old. Multiple courses of antibiotics and her only being better for a couple of days before it coming back and needing more antibiotics. ENT wouldn’t see us but suggested GP prescribed 3 months of amoxicillin once daily (instead of the full dose 3 times daily). We are 3 weeks into this and seems to be holding things at bay just now… Who knows if things will flare up again after the 3 months! Horrible when they’re poorly with the ear infection isn’t it.

Luckily we have private healthcare so managed to get an appointment next week. Hoping that we can get a better course of action as it’s just so frustrating when they are ill all the time and the poor little thing struggles so much with the pain - he was crying as soon as the doctor got the otoscope out last time as it hurts so much.
